Here is my end table in the livingroom with the old lamp. Too spindle-y and not enough "GERTH" if ya know what I mean! Something chunky, something a little more...me!
So because the wall behind my couch is chocolate brown, I knew I would need to paint it. I have alot of white and cream accents with my big lantern, newel post, ceiling tins on the wall and my shutter with the flower boxes in them. So it was only right to continue with the cream.
I roughed it up with some sandpaper, and used my Warm Scones sample from Ace Hardware and threw two sloppy coats on this baby! It already had some pits, cracks and knicks in it, so I just made ure that the paint did not fully cover those!
Um! Super happy with it...even without a shade. Gotta find a shade! So yesterday while out snooping around garage sales, I found this pretty little thing! Vintage, retro, original...LOVE HER! I prayed the whole way home hoping it would be the right size for the lamp! But at only $2 there was no way of passing her up!
So whatch think? Is it a right fit? Look at her details! I. love. her. Yes...Its a her! Just the right amount of whimsy with the vintage, rusty, chippy accents in my livingroom...and even the more modern couch!

It looks good. It's OK if it doesn't look like everybody else's lamp! Love the dots.
Nice job...the lamp looks way more interesting the way you customized it!
The shade is adorable with her new paint job.
BTW if you find a lamp you love that doesn't work - a lot of small hardware stores (like Ace which is a franchise chain) have small shops that will fix them for you. I have one at my local Ace right now.
Cute lamp and the shade is perfect. Great finds.
Oh so cute. Both the lamp and the shade!
They look great together. Good job on the lamp!
A perfect match! Love the lamp and dotted shade.
Shade is a nice way to tie in the brown. Jane F.
I love the chunky, too. And that shade is definitely vintage. I remember my mom having some similar. Too cute.
Oh I think that it is just perfect. What a great job you did and what a wonderful difference.
What a great job you did on your little lamp and that is the most darling little shade! I'm not coveting it at all, no no I'm not! :)

Sweet shade and I love what you did with the lamp. I like your couch, too.
Your lamp redo is lovely. I especially love the shade. My parents had that exact shade in their bedroom in my childhood home.
Love your shade redo. It definitely has a funky, chunky appeal that is delightful!
